About the role
A large nonprofit healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with Medicaid experience to provide immediate analytical and reporting support during a finance team transition. This is a short-term, part-time engagement working directly with finance leadership on reporting, modeling, and ad-hoc analytical needs. Expect to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time.
What you'll actually do
- Analyze revenue trends, key business drivers, volume metrics, and overall financial performance
- Support financial modeling for new programs including cost analysis and projections
- Assist with NYC grant revenue analysis and reporting
- Analyze Medicaid-related financial data and healthcare reimbursement trends
- Perform account analysis, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Support monthly reporting and financial planning activities
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by leadership
- Partner with operational teams to gather inputs and translate data into actionable insights
What we're looking for
- 5 years of financial analysis experience
- Medicaid healthcare finance experience required
- Experience with NYC grant revenue analysis and nonprofit healthcare funding
- Healthcare payer or provider finance background strongly preferred
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Able to work independently, manage ad-hoc requests, and partner directly with leadership
- Strong communication skills - comfortable presenting findings and supporting executive decision-making
