Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead our financial strategy, overseeing all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and risk management for our international operations. Reporting directly to the CEO and Board of Directors, the CFO will play a pivotal role in driving profitability, optimizing capital structure, and supporting expansion into high-growth Spanish-speaking markets. This executive position demands a strategic visionary with deep banking expertise and fluency in Spanish to navigate our cross-border ecosystem effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute the bank's long-term financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation to support $3 billion in assets and international growth initiatives.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, and local regulations across multiple jurisdictions; oversee audits and interactions with global regulators such as the FDIC, ECB, and Latin American banking authorities.
- Risk Management & Treasury: Lead enterprise-wide risk assessment, liquidity management, and treasury operations, with a focus on mitigating currency, interest rate, and geopolitical risks in volatile international markets.
- Operational Excellence: Optimize cost structures, enhance digital banking efficiencies, and implement advanced financial technologies (e.g., AI-driven analytics) to drive operational margins and sustainability goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executive leadership, board members, and external partners; represent the bank in high-level negotiations, particularly in Spanish-speaking regions.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of innovation, diversity, and inclusion across our global offices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) strongly preferred.
- Experience: 15 years of progressive financial leadership in banking or financial services, with at least 10 years in senior roles at international institutions managing $1B in assets. Proven track record in cross-border banking operations, including experience in Latin American markets.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) required; proficiency in English essential. Additional languages (e.g., Portuguese) a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of banking regulations, financial modeling, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and data analytics tools. Experience with ESG reporting and fintech integration highly desirable.
