ABOUT THE ROLEIf you're passionate about automation, PLC programming, and bringing industrial equipment online, this role is for you. As a Controls Engineer at ASC Process Systems, you'll design and commission custom control systems for advanced process equipment used by leading manufacturers across the globe.
From the shop floor to customer sites worldwide, no two projects are the same. This hands-on role combines engineering, troubleshooting, and customer interaction, with up to 75% travel for installations, startups, and training both domestically and internationally.
Compensation
Controls Engineer I: $90,000 – $110,000
Controls Engineer II: $110,000 – $120,000
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and upgrade control systems for custom process equipment.
- Perform in-house as well as field commissioning and customer training of control systems.
- Oversee field installations of control systems.
- Track project schedules and contract specifications to assure adherence to customer and company mandates.
- Communicate with customers via email and telephone regarding product design and schedule.
- Evaluate existing products for possible design improvements, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Creating technical documentation.
- Travel up to 75% to customer sites locally, domestically, and internationally.
REQUIREMENTS
Controls Engineer I
- Bachelor's degree or technical degree in Engineering, Controls, Automation, or a related field required.
- 0–1 years of controls engineering or related experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or GE) and HMI software preferred, with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
Controls Engineer II
- Bachelor's degree or technical degree in Engineering, Controls, Automation, or a related field required.
- 2 years of controls engineering experience with strong PLC programming and HMI software experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, troubleshoot complex control systems, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
