We are seeking a strategic and experienced Accounting Director to lead ASC’s accounting function and support long-term financial planning. This role oversees financial reporting, internal controls, audits, compliance, and team development. The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with strong leadership and the ability to drive organizational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Oversight
- Direct all accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and financial reporting
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all functions
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Manage internal and external audits
- Maintain and improve internal control frameworks
Budgeting & Strategic Support
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Provide analysis and insights for executive decision-making
- Evaluate and implement cost-saving initiatives
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and workflows
- Lead implementation of automation and efficiency-enhancing tools
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures
Team Leadership
- Manage, coach, and develop accounting staff
- Establish performance goals and ensure accountability
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required or strongly preferred
Experience
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience
- 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong background in financial reporting, compliance, and audit management
- Experience with QuickBooks; familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is a plus
