We are looking for a skilled Electrician to join our maintenance team and help keep our historic and modern facilities running smoothly.
The RoleAs a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for the operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of the electrical systems across the Asbury Heights campus. You aren't just fixing wires; you’re ensuring the comfort and safety of the seniors who call our community home.
Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures (LED lighting, motors, control panels).
Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown.
Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets local, state, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
Safety Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of emergency power systems, including backup generators and life-safety lighting.
Collaboration: Work alongside the general maintenance team on larger renovations or facility upgrades.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts inventory.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a journeyman or maintenance electrician (healthcare or campus environment experience is a plus).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a trade school or apprenticeship program.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the NEC and the ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
Physical Ability: Able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Soft Skills: A friendly, patient demeanor when interacting with residents and a "safety-first" mindset.
