The Maître d’ is responsible for being the first point of contact for all of our guests. The Maître d’ is responsible for providing genuine hospitality while maintaining all aspects of the space and meeting guests’ needs. This position has an hourly rate of $25.00 Tips.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFollow the posted opening and closing dutiesTake accurate and complete reservations Provide excellent service at all timesCooperate with the Management team to greet incoming and departing guests with a warm, knowledgeable, and noticeably appreciative demeanour with a genuine smile and eye contactSet and maintain the dining room and podium environment and ensure materials are perfectly cleanHave necessary knowledge of menu items to assist guests as needed Assist guest and colleagues courteously and efficiently Use the guest’s name appropriately and communicate it to restaurant colleagues Assist in seating guests and pulling chairsAssist restaurant colleagues prepare for serviceCommunicate other necessary information with colleagues (i.e., birthdays, anniversaries, special requests) Handle reservations and prepayment for special events, holiday brunches, wine dinner, etc.Coordinate set menus for small groups and distribute copies of the event form accordingly Inform restaurant managers daily of reservations forecast Share information of all upcoming events with the Concierge team Assist in monitoring all guests’ needsConfirm daily reservations Log in information about our guest preferences Check daily for our regular guest preferences and record them in our daily list for serviceAll other responsibilities assigned by ManagementREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS2 years experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar setting in restaurants or food and beverageMust be capable of working in a team-oriented environment to achieve the hotel’s common goal of guest satisfactionPositive, engaging, and energetic personality Must be personable with guests and be able to anticipate their needsAble to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision Very high attention to detailSensitive to cultural nuances Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in EnglishAble to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environmentExcellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholdersAbility to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policiesAbility to stand for extended periods of timeMulti-lingual is a plusExperience working with Sevenrooms is preferredMust be able to take constructive criticism and work well in a team dynamicMust have full schedule availability, must be able to work weekends We use eVerify to confirm U.S. Employment eligibility.
