Dye House Supervisor – Maiden, NC
- Supervise daily operations of the dye house, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and customer specifications are met.
- Oversee the operation of pressure jet and soft-flow dyeing machines used to process a variety of fabrics and fibers.
- Coordinate production activities for dye loads ranging from approximately 150 to 1,700 pounds.
- Monitor dyeing processes, including machine settings, temperatures, chemical additions, timing, and other process parameters.
- Review dye recipes and production instructions to ensure proper color, shade, and finish requirements are achieved.
- Work closely with the dye/chemical mixing room to ensure dyes and chemicals are properly prepared and delivered for each production run.
- Monitor fabric throughout the dyeing process and identify issues involving color, shade, temperature, fabric quality, or processing.
- Make or recommend process adjustments to maintain consistent color and quality while minimizing rework, waste, and downtime.
- Supervise, train, and coach dye house employees on equipment operation, production procedures, quality requirements, and safety practices.
- Assign employees to machines and coordinate manpower based on production priorities and workload.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processing problems and communicate maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate production records, batch information, chemical usage, and quality documentation.
- Work closely with laboratory and quality-control personnel on color matching, shade approval, and finished-fabric testing. South Fork's lab performs testing such as shrinkage, width, yield, stretch and recovery, torque, crock, washing, burst, and wicking.
- Ensure employees follow company safety procedures when working around dyeing equipment, chemicals, hot water, steam, and other industrial processes.
- Monitor housekeeping and ensure the dye house remains clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with production planning and prioritize orders to keep the department running efficiently.
- Investigate production problems and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and quality.
- Communicate with management, laboratory, finishing, maintenance, and other departments to resolve production issues.
- Help maintain consistent dye quality across different fabric types, including cotton, polyester, nylon, spandex, acrylic, bamboo, modacrylic, and blended fabrics.
- Maintain a strong focus on employee safety, product quality, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
