Director of Commercial Sales

Artform | architectural fabrication
Oklahoma, OK Full Time
POSTED ON 10/4/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/31/2027

Artform is seeking a senior commercial sales leader to take executive ownership of an established, high-value relationship network across the commercial design and construction industry. Artform has longstanding relationships with senior architects, owners, developers, general contractors, construction managers, artists, consultants, and institutional clients - approximately 80% centered in Oklahoma City. The opportunity is to steward those relationships, increase Artform's involvement earlier in design, strengthen specifications, and convert established trust into larger, more strategic opportunities.

The Director will guide major opportunities from executive relationship strategy and early project identification through design-assist, budgeting, proposal strategy, negotiation, award, and disciplined turnover. This person will lead commercial sales for complex architectural systems, custom fabrication, and public art, with particular emphasis on $1 million to $5 million contracts. The role requires a leader accustomed to long-cycle, high-value construction sales where scope, technical risk, schedule, margin, and contract terms are managed with the same rigor as the relationship.

ABOUT ARTFORM

Artform designs, engineers, manufactures, and installs high-performance architectural metal systems, custom fabricated features, and large-scale public art. Our capabilities include Forma architectural composite material systems, Reveal single-skin panels, BoardFt extruded aluminum, Screenwall systems, solid Plate, custom metal fabrication, illuminated features, and complex artist-driven work.

We work directly with architects, artists, owners, developers, general contractors, and construction managers to translate ambitious design intent into buildable, durable, precisely executed work. Artform connects design, engineering, preconstruction, manufacturing, finishing, and field installation through one coordinated organization - giving the sales leader the credibility and resources to pursue major, technically demanding projects.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Strategic account leadership. Own Artform's established high-value relationships and focused plans for the customers and partners most capable of producing significant, repeat work.

• Commercial sales. Lead and close qualified commercial opportunities, with particular focus on complex $1 million to $5 million contracts.

• Specification influence. Expand Artform's position in basis-of-design decisions, details, budgets, finish schedules, and technical specifications.

• Relationship growth. Deepen access within existing accounts and identify additional offices, sectors, decision-makers, and projects that can produce larger opportunities.

• Major opportunity strategy. Direct pursuit strategy, internal resources, client communication, proposal positioning, negotiation, and next steps through award.

• Revenue and margin accountability. Deliver quality booked sales and reliable forecasts while protecting project fit, scope, terms, schedule, and gross margin.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as Artform's senior commercial relationship owner with principals, design leaders, owners, developers, preconstruction executives, project executives, and other key decision-makers.

• Build on existing relationships through purposeful account planning, consistent executive contact, project intelligence, and disciplined follow-through.

• Identify larger opportunities by understanding future capital plans, active projects, procurement strategies, decision structures, and where Artform can add the most value.

• Drive early engagement through technical presentations, design working sessions, finish reviews, budgeting, design-assist, value development, and constructability discussions.

• Advance Artform products and capabilities into specifications and basis-of-design positions while creating negotiated and invited opportunities for custom work.

• Qualify major pursuits for fit, decision-makers, scope, budget, schedule, competition, procurement, contract structure, technical risk, margin, and probability of award.

• Lead executive presentations, proposal strategy, scope reviews, value-development discussions, pricing alignment, and negotiations within Artform guidelines.

• Maintain momentum through clear next steps, decision dates, communication plans, and internal ownership until an opportunity is awarded or deliberately closed.

• Maintain accurate account and opportunity information and provide credible pipeline updates, forecasts, and reporting on relationship health and next actions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ten or more years of progressive commercial sales, major-account, business-development, or sales-leadership experience in architectural products, specialty construction, building-envelope systems, custom fabrication, commercial construction, or a related industry.

• Repeated success leading and closing complex contracts in the $1 million to $5 million range; experience with larger opportunities is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships and convert them into earlier project access, expanded specifications, repeat business, and larger awards.

• Strong knowledge of plan/spec, negotiated, design-build, design-assist, and competitive-bid procurement environments.

• Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications; architectural metal, cladding, custom fabrication, public art, specialty construction, or complex building-envelope experience is strongly preferred.

• Strong commercial judgment, presentation ability, negotiation skill, written communication, listening, organization, and follow-through.

• Proficiency with CRM systems and construction-document technology, including disciplined forecasting and account documentation.

• Oklahoma City base is strongly preferred. Valid driver's license and regional or national travel are required. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent senior industry experience will be considered.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE

The strongest candidate is a senior commercial sales professional who understands how major architectural and construction projects are conceived, specified, budgeted, procured, negotiated, and awarded. This person is comfortable inheriting a strong platform and operating with established senior relationships, where credibility, judgment, discretion, responsiveness, and commercial fluency are expected from day one.

• Has the executive presence to represent Artform with senior architects, owners, developers, general contractors, construction managers, artists, and institutional decision-makers.

• Knows how to grow major accounts by increasing access, relevance, specification influence, project visibility, and share of opportunity.

• Can discuss design intent while also understanding constructability, estimating, fabrication, installation, contract risk, schedule, and margin.
