Interim Staff Accountant
Location: North Hollywood, CA

About the Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for an Interim Staff Accountant opportunity with an established company in the commercial building products and manufacturing industry.
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on and can provide immediate support across day-to-day accounting functions and various accounting projects. The position will work closely with the Controller and broader accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close-related schedules.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Assist with general ledger accounting and other routine accounting functions.
- Support various accounting projects and process-related tasks as needed.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.
- Assist with maintaining accurate and organized financial documentation.
- Provide additional accounting support to the Controller and accounting team as needed.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of accounting experience in a corporate or similar accounting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and fixed assets.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks and projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong Excel and general accounting system skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the accounting team.
- Comfortable stepping into an interim role and contributing quickly.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Staff Accountant or Accountant who can hit the ground running, take ownership of assigned accounting tasks, and provide reliable support to the Controller. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable handling both routine accounting responsibilities and ad hoc projects.
