The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality management system and ensuring product conformity across the site's value streams in a precision manufacturing environment.
QMS Management & Compliance
- Ensure product conformity across all manufacturing value streams within the facility.
- Maintain and manage the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with relevant industry and customer standards (e.g., ISO-based systems, regulatory, and certification bodies).
- Support and manage the calibration, quality control, and quality assurance systems.
- Partner with corporate quality teams to ensure appropriate QMS alignment across the enterprise.
Standards, Inspection, & Improvement
- Develop and implement quality standards and practices for inspection, testing, and product/process evaluation.
- Support the Quality Inspection function to ensure products and processes comply with QMS requirements.
- Analyze customer/purchase orders to ensure compliance with both QMS and specific customer requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in product and process efficiencies, focusing on the reduction of costs associated with defects, rework, and scrap.
Problem Solving & Auditing
- Represent Quality on cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects, material review board (MRB), and Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) for internal and customer concerns.
- Establish and manage the statistical process control (SPC) system for process monitoring.
- Prepare required reports on QMS performance, RCCA progress, and key quality metrics.
- Serve as an internal auditor for process and product auditing.
Required Skills
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes or equivalent product validation.
- Active participation in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Perform other duties, relating to Quality Assurance and Control, as required.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (typically in a STEM or Business field) and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience in a manufacturing quality role, preferably within a highly regulated manufacturing industry.
- Compliance: Must meet necessary requirements for working on sensitive manufacturing projects.
- Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrated experience with major Quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, or industry-specific equivalents).
- Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) Tools (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma principles).
- Advanced expertise in Root Cause Problem-solving/Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Significant experience in data, trend analysis, and designing/improving QMS processes.
- Communication: Able to effectively communicate and deliver presentations to senior site leadership.
