Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the company’s overall financial strategy and health. This role requires a blend of high-level strategic planning and hands-on operational management. The CFO will oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management, ensuring the organization is positioned for long-term growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the President and executive team to develop and execute the company’s long-term business plan and financial goals.
- Financial Management: Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide monthly/quarterly financial forecasting to guide operational decision-making.
- Cash Flow Optimization: Manage capital requirements and cash flow to support ongoing operations and future expansion projects, including equipment procurement or infrastructure investments.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, overseeing insurance policies, internal controls, and audit processes.
- Operations Analysis: Analyze project-based margins and operational costs to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Liaison & Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, banking institutions, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. An MBA or CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Experience: 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in capital-intensive industries such as construction, telecommunications, or heavy industrial services.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems, and data analytics software.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing and mentoring a finance team and working effectively across various departments.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
