Overview
Arrowhead House Programs is seeking a full time experienced Building Maintenance Technician to provide facility maintenance and repairs. This position is responsible for approximately 30 units of apartments at two adjoining locations in downtown Duluth. The qualified person should have knowledge and experience in all aspects of commercial/residential building maintenance and coordination of projects relating.
Job Details
- Location: Duluth, MN
- Schedule: Part Time
- Shift: Tuesday-Thursday, 9:30am - 3:30pm. Can vary due to On Call responsibilities.
- Hours: 18hrs/week
- Weekends: As needed
- Holidays: As needed
- Pay Range: $18.00-$20.00/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Be on-call for maintenance emergencies
- Be on-call for snow removal
- Provide proper maintenance/repairs to the buildings, inside and out, to maintain high standards of operation
- Maintain a high level of organization of facility scheduled maintenance items
- Coordination and supervision of outside contractors as it relates to buildings and grounds
- Ensure that all building/fire safety codes are met
- Proactive in maintenance/repairs to equipment and grounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Self starter and self directed is a must
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to notice and assess a problem and come up with a quality solution
- Be experienced and knowledgeable in general carpentry, light plumbing, and electrical repair
- HVAC experience and knowledge is a plus but not mandatory
- Experienced in proper interior and exterior painting techniques and care of equipment
- Ability to use necessary hand and power tools (all tools provided)
- Knowledge of proper organization and storage of facility keys and locks
- Ability to operate snow removal equipment and lawn care equipment
- Experience using floor and carpet care equipment
- Knowledge in dealing/hiring service contractors
- Be knowledgeable in health sanitation and safety regulations set by local and state health departments, fire department, building codes and building code inspectors
- Two years previous experience in maintenance or related field
Requirements
- Ability to pass a background study
- A valid Driver’s License
- 18 years old
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and use job related equipment and supplies
- Ability to work off of a ladder or scaffolding
