This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire Life Safety Director based in Manhattan, NY. The Fire Life Safety Director will be responsible for ensuring compliance with fire and life safety protocols, conducting regular inspections and fire drills, and maintaining equipment. Duties also include developing and implementing emergency action plans, providing ongoing safety training to staff and tenants, and liaising with local emergency services. The role ensures the safety and security of building occupants and compliance with building safety codes and regulations.
- Knowledge of fire safety systems and protocols, including fire drills, inspections, and emergency action planning.
- Strong understanding of compliance with local, state, and federal fire and life safety regulations.
- Proficiency in training and educating staff on safety procedures, as well as ensuring tenant compliance.
- Strong communication and leadership skills for coordinating effectively with emergency personnel and building occupants.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain records and reports related to safety programs.
- FSD (Fire Safety Director) Certificate or equivalent credential required.
- Experience in fire safety operations, security services, or facilities management preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and respond promptly in emergency situations.
