The Security Field Trainer plays a critical role in developing the next generation of security professionals at Arrow Security. This position is responsible for delivering, developing, and evaluating high-impact training programs that meet New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) standards while reinforcing Arrow’s commitment to professionalism, safety, and service.
This role combines instructional delivery, curriculum development, and data-driven training analysis.
The ideal candidate brings deep security industry experience, strong instructional design skills, and the ability to leverage SkyPrep LMS to track performance, identify training gaps, and continuously improve learning outcomes across the organization.
This will require travel across NYC boroughs and client site locations.
Essential Job Duties
Deliver Industry-Certified Training
- Lead DCJS-approved courses including 8-Hour Pre-Assignment, 16-Hour OJT, 8-Hour Annual In-Service, and DHS 40-Hour Private Shelter Training
- Facilitate engaging classroom and field-based instruction for security personnel across NYC
Develop Training Programs
- Create and deliver programs focused on emergency preparedness, de-escalation, customer service, ethics, and incident response
- Design instructional materials, assessments, and eLearning modules using modern instructional design practices (ADDIE, SAM)
Drive Training Performance & Compliance
- Utilize SkyPrep LMS to track certification compliance, learner progress, and training effectiveness
- Maintain accurate DCJS documentation and training records
- Analyze training data to identify gaps and recommend improvements
Collaborate & Lead
- Partner with Learning & Organizational Development leadership to enhance training strategy and curriculum
- Mentor security personnel and promote professionalism across the organization
- Stay current on DCJS regulations, industry trends, and emerging training technologies
Position Requirements
- 8 years of experience in the security industry or law enforcement, including leadership, supervision, or training responsibilities
- Current DCJS Certified Security Guard Instructor (New York State)
- Valid New York State Security Guard License in good standing
- Experience developing and delivering training programs and instructional content (classroom, blended, or eLearning)
- Experience using SkyPrep LMS or similar learning management systems to track training and analyze performance
- Strong knowledge of New York State General Business Law Article 7A and security compliance regulations
- Ability to effectively train and engage adult learners in classroom and virtual environments
Compensation Range: $75,000- $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and location.
