What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Plant Construction Inspector position at Armstrong?
The Outside Plant Construction Inspector is present on fiber optic construction projects to ensure that the fiber cable is being constructed properly and meeting the project requirements. The field stall will coordinate the various activities on the project and take detailed field records of the installed fiber.

Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to construction maps
- Safety rules and practices from all governing authorities are monitored and enforced
- Understand and implement local construction methods and procedures as required
- Review permits and Right-Of-Way (ROW) considerations and requirements
- Witness and monitor work activities, inspections, and testing in accordance with quality assurance plans, site survey plans, and other policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Armstrong and Industry Specifications while plant is being constructed
- Complete “As-Built” forms for delivery
- Perform quality inspections on work currently performed or work that has recently been completed, utilizing established checklists and/or other quality related documentation
- Maintain records and prepare inspection reports
- Provide daily updates to Construction/Project Manager on overall safety, quality, and production
- Assist in traffic management of all construction activities
- Other related duties as assigned
- Minimum 3 yrs of CATV/Tele construction experience
- Capable of reading and understanding construction drawing/prints
- Must possess a positive attitude, a strong work-ethic, and a desire to learn
- Aerial and Underground Experience
- Basic knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Programs
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented environment
- High degree of focus and attention to detail
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical motions of bending, standing, climbing, and walking construction zones
- Must be able to travel
