About the Position: The Intellectual Property Business Development Specialist at Armstrong Teasdale, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic growth objectives, supports the business development and marketing efforts of the assigned practice group. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Director, this position collaborates with the business development and marketing teams, as well as attorneys, to enhance client relationships, drive new business opportunities, and strengthen the firm’s market position. This role involves assisting with client teams; industry teams; business plans; proposals and RFPs; client-facing events; and providing necessary administrative support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and motivated to grow their career in a professional services environment.

Proposals and RFPs
- Prepares and manages business development pitches, proposals, and presentations, ensuring accuracy, coherence, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Leads internal preparation meetings and assists attorneys with client meetings, presentations, and pitches.
- Conducts research and gathers business intelligence on prospects, competitors and industry trends.
- Utilizes the firm’s CRM system to track and manage accurate and timely information related to business development activities, client interactions, and outcomes.
Business Plans
- Oversees individual Attorney Business Plan meetings and efforts. Independently meets with attorneys to discuss goals and progress.
- Supports the development and implementation of business development plans and marketing strategies for individual attorneys.
Client & Industry Teams
- Collaborate with Sr. Business Development Director and Business Development team to plan and coordinate Client Team and Industry Team meetings and efforts.
- Supports the development and implementation of business development plans and marketing strategies for client and industry teams.
- Conducts research and gathers business intelligence on competitors and industry trends.
- Monitors industry publications, news sources, and databases for potential business opportunities and client leads.
Administrative Support
- Collaborates with the marketing team to create compelling content for marketing materials, website updates, and social media channels.
- Collaborates with the marketing team to develop and maintain industry survey and directory ranking content and results for assigned products & practices; and respond to industry surveys requests or directory ranking submissions.
- Provide logistical support for client events, webinars, and sponsorships, including tracking RSVPs, preparing materials, and coordinating follow-up in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Develops an understanding of the firm’s value proposition, practice areas, client base, and competitive positioning in the market.
- Prepares regular reports and analytics on business development activities, client engagement metrics, and ROI analysis for firm leadership.
- Maintains and updates the firm’s work experience to ensure current and compelling materials.
- Provides administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings and handling correspondence related to business development initiatives.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A
- Experience: 3 years of experience in business development, marketing, or client relations within a professional services environment; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software; Demonstrated understanding of the intellectual property market preferred

Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
Travel Required: There will be some travel to other firm office geographies to support business development events on-site
