Registered Nurse - Inpatient Care in Emergency Department

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: Agency RNs will be scheduled Sunday night through Thursday night.

Day Shift: Agency RNs will be scheduled Monday through Friday.

Shifts consist of 12 hours.

Agency RNs will provide inpatient-level nursing care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting transfer to an inpatient bed. This role supports patient safety, throughput, and continuity of care during periods of high hospital census.

• Provide nursing care to admitted patients awaiting inpatient beds.


• Monitor patients with telemetry, IV medications, post-procedural care, and general medical-surgical needs.


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including ED physicians, hospitalists, ICU teams, and inpatient services.


• Maintain patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced environment.

• Recent inpatient medical-surgical experience required.


• Active RN license.


• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.


• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
