What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator position at Armorsource Llc?
A Cold Press Operator is responsible for creating pre-form helmet shells by rotating material layers according to the layer arrangement in the cold press bowls. This is the first step of the helmet shell forming process.
Duties:
- Be able to read layer arrangement and understand difference between shapes and sizes of pieces.
- Form, rotate and place material pieces as work instructions shows.
- Inspect all helmets for defects after they have been fully cold pressed.
- Be familiar with quality defects or if unsure ask questions.
- Record production in Plex.
- Complete all required production records.
- Work with Set Arrangement to ensure that helmets are moved through production in a timely manner.
- Daily cleaning as needed in department (equipment and general area).
- Report and work with Lead and Production Supervisor on issues that arise within the department.
- Communicate with Lead or Supervisor to know what production is needed.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Reliable; Excellent Attendance.
- Able to stand for 8 to 10 hours.
- Ability to learn and replicate without supervision.
- Able to work in a professional manner at all times.
- Able to follow directions and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Prior material handling or sorting of some kind.
- Ability to read drawings/blueprints.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to read layer arrangement and work instructions to ensure the quality of the helmet.
- Ability to identify any missing or defects in material.
- The employee will also have to stand, use hands and fingers, to handle or feel material while performing job duty for 10 hours a day.
- The employee may have to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- The employee’s Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Can have fibers in the air while performing job duties.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment can vary from quiet to very loud.
