Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient production runs, maintaining high-quality output, and keeping the work environment safe and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery and equipment in adherence to standard operating procedures.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize machine downtime.
Troubleshoot machinery malfunctions and make minor adjustments or repairs.
Inspect finished products for quality, report defects, and carry out minor rework as necessary.
Assist with setup and changeover of production lines.
Maintain accurate production data and documentation (e.g., quantities, cycle times, machine status).
Keep your work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
Collaborate closely with supervisors and team members to achieve production targets.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Read job traveler/bill of materials to ensure correct components are used.
Record production in Plex.
Complete all required production records.
Inspect all helmets before moving to the next operation or leaving department.
Be familiar with quality defects and place helmets on hold as needed.
Daily cleaning and preventative maintenance as needed in department (equipment and general area).
Keep track of inventory and supplies.
Report and work with Lead on issues that arise within the department.
Work in a safe manner at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
Comfortable reading technical documents, manuals, or blueprints.
Physical stamina and ability to lift up to around 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
