Drain & Sewer Service Technician
Job Summary
The Drain & Sewer Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential drain and sewer systems while delivering outstanding customer experience. This role combines strong technical expertise with a service‑driven mindset—guiding homeowners through informed decisions with professionalism, integrity, and care. Success in this role comes from solving problems the right way, educating customers, and taking pride in quality workmanship—not pressure‑based selling.
Work Schedule
- Primary Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-final dispatch time 5:00pm
- Availability: Periodic evenings, weekends, and on‑call emergency rotations as business needs require
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Service & Technical Work
- Diagnose, clean, repair, and maintain residential drain and sewer systems, including sinks, bathtubs, sewer lines, and related fixtures.
- Perform drain cleaning, unclogging, jetting (preferred but not required), and routine maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
- Complete repairs and replacements on sewer and drain lines, pipes, and associated components.
- Meet or exceed key performance and quality standards.
Customer Experience
- Build strong rapport with homeowners by clearly explaining diagnoses, repair options, and recommended solutions.
- Provide knowledgeable, professional, and trustworthy service experience that encourages referrals and repeat business.
- Educate customers so they can make confident, informed decisions about their plumbing systems.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and services performed.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal plumbing and sewer regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols to protect yourself, coworkers, and customers.
Equipment & Teamwork
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe working conditions.
- Arrive prepared with the proper tools and PPE to complete each job efficiently.
- Work independently in the field while contributing positively to a team‑oriented culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Drain and/or Sewer Service Technician (or similar role).
- Strong knowledge of residential sewer and drain systems, familiarity with plumbing codes and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and diagnostic skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills and comfort using iPad or similar software for documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stoop, crawl, and climb ladders for extended periods, often in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working at various heights and in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions while wearing required PPE.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate tools and machinery.
Work Environment & Conditions
- Primarily field‑based work at residential customer properties (interior and exterior).
- Exposure to weather, dust, chemicals, and other job‑site conditions.
- Use of PPE including safety footwear, gloves, goggles, masks/respirators, and hard hats as required.
Must pass background screening, drug testing, and motor vehicle records check.
Salary : $20 - $22
