Senior Flooring Project Manager – Commercial Division
We are seeking a Senior Flooring Project Manager for our Commercial Division. This leadership role is responsible not only for managing projects, but also for overseeing and supporting the project management team to ensure successful execution across multiple jobs. The Senior Project Manager will serve as a resource to other PMs and Assistant PMs, assist with complex projects, and step in when coverage or additional oversight is needed.
This position works closely with general contractors, site coordinators, installers, and internal staff to ensure projects remain on schedule and are completed in accordance with contract scope requirements. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in commercial flooring project management, confident making decisions under pressure, and comfortable balancing leadership with hands-on project involvement. Candidates must have experiences managing multiple projects, PMs, and subcontractors at the same time. An ability to manage and delegate tasks as needed is also a must.
This position pays $65,000-$75,000 per year with an additional $2,500 bonus upon successful completion of the probationary period.
Commercial project management and flooring experience are required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and support Project Managers within the Commercial Division
- Provide guidance, direction, and problem-solving assistance to PMs as needed
- Step in to manage projects directly when workload, complexity, or staffing requires
- Work closely with general contractors to ensure schedules and scope requirements are met
- Visit job sites as needed to monitor progress and address issues
- Attend project progress meetings when required or in the absence of a Site Coordinator
- Negotiate pricing, place material orders, and coordinate delivery to warehouses and job sites
- Research material requirements, including finished goods, trims, accessories, and installation methods
- Oversee Site Coordinators and manage installer performance as needed
- Audit subcontractor invoices and review change orders
- Schedule subcontractors to meet upcoming project needs
- Assist in resolving field issues, delays, and unexpected jobsite challenges
- Other duties as required based on project or management needs
Qualifications
- Commercial construction project management experience required
- Flooring industry experience required (3-5 years)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and support other PMs simultaneously
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and interpret plans and specifications
- Ability to field-measure if necessary
- Proven ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Experience purchasing materials and issuing labor/vendor contracts
- Proficient with computerized take-off programs and project management software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional environment
