We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Therapist (Speech-Language Pathologist) to join our Rehabilitation team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact on patients’ communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities.

Position Summary
As a Speech Therapist at AVRMC, you will evaluate, plan, and administer individualized therapy programs for patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
You will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to help patients achieve the highest possible level of independence and function.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluation & Treatment
- Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders
- Provide therapy to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Patient Care & Collaboration
- Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Obtain physician orders for certification and recertification of therapy services
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals, techniques, and progress
- Support patients in achieving optimal outcomes and independence
Specialized Services
- Perform or assist with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)
(or demonstrate willingness to learn)
Quality & Compliance
- Participate in performance improvement and information management programs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy / Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Current Colorado Speech Therapy License
- Current BCLS Certification
Preferred
- One year of relevant work experience
