Position Summary:
ASUMH seeks an energetic and student-focused Onboarding Specialist to join our Student Support Center team. This entry-level position plays a key role in welcoming and supporting new students as they transition into the college. The Onboarding Specialist will assist with admissions processes and orientation while also providing administrative assistant support to the department.
This position is designed to provide cross-training in admissions, academic advising, and administrative functions, offering excellent opportunities for professional growth within higher education.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as a first point of contact for prospective and new students, providing information on admissions, enrollment, and student success resources.
- Guide students through onboarding steps, including applications, placement, orientation, and registration.
- Support advising staff by understanding degree requirements and assisting students in connecting with an appropriate advisor.
- Maintain accurate records and track student progress through onboarding and advising systems.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, managing correspondence, filing, and assisting with office operations.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and communications for Student Success Center leadership.
- Collaborate with admissions, advising, and student success teams to deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
- Participate in campus events, information sessions, and outreach efforts to encourage enrollment and student engagement.
- Provide excellent customer service and foster an inclusive, welcoming environment for all students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Some education in Communication, Administration, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in customer service, office administration, or student support.
- Familiarity with higher education or community college settings.
General Days/Hours:
M-Th 7:30am - 5:00pm, Fr 7:30am - 2:00pm. Not to exceed 29 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and office technology.
