Position Summary:

The Senior Workforce Development Officer leads strategic workforce initiatives that align
academic and training programs with regional labor market needs. This role builds
partnerships with employers, community organizations, and industry stakeholders to
develop, implement, and evaluate workforce programs that support student success and
regional economic development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement workforce development strategies aligned with institutional
    goals and regional workforce demands
  • Analyze labor market data to identify high-demand careers and training
    opportunities
  • Lead grant-funded workforce initiatives and ensure compliance with state and
    federal requirement


Program Development & Oversight

  • Design, launch, and evaluate workforce training programs, certifications, and short-
    term credentials
  • Collaborate with academic deans and faculty to align curriculum with industry
    standards
  • Oversee program outcomes, including enrollment, completion rates, credit and
    non-credit programs, and job placement


Industry & Community Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers, healthcare partners, and
    industry leaders
  • Coordinate advisory boards and employer engagement activities
  • Identify internship, apprenticeship, and job placement opportunities for students


Data & Outcome Tracking

  • Track and report workforce program outcomes (e.g., employment rates, credential
    attainment, pass rates)
  • Use data to continuously improve programming and support accreditation or
    reporting requirements
  • Prepare reports for leadership, state agencies, and grant funders


Grant Development & Management

  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities related to workforce training
  • Assist in writing, managing, and reporting on grants
  • Ensure compliance with funding guidelines and deliverables


Supervision & Collaboration

  • Supervise workforce development, secondary center, tech center, and community
    education staff
  • Work collaboratively with admissions, faculty, industry leaders, advising, and career
    services
  • Serve on institutional committees related to workforce and economic development

General Days/Hours:

Monday-Thursday 7:30 am- 5:00 am & Friday 7:30 am - 2:00 pm

Other:

Work Environment
  • Office-based with regular engagement in the community and regional travel
  • Scheduled evening or weekend work for events or employer engagement will be
necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Development, Education, Business, Public Administration, or related field. 5 years of experience in workforce development, program management, or industry partnership development.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in community college or technical education
  • Experience with grant writing and management
  • Knowledge of labor market data tools and workforce reporting systems
  • Experience in growing workforce programs, initiatives, and revenue
