Job Overview
AZTEC is currently seeking a Human Resources Director to join our team. We are a 501(c)(3) organization that provides support and services to people with developmental disabilities in group home settings across the greater West Phoenix area.

Responsibilities:
- Employee relations issues, including but not limited to, dispute resolution, investigations, EEO issues/reporting, wage and hour complaints, disciplinary actions, and employment terminations
- Oversee Paycom to include components of payroll, HR, report writing, and compliance documentation
- Update and maintain HR policies, procedures & processes, employee handbook, training curriculum and procedures
- Oversee and direct recruiting methods and coordinate the employee selection process, and new employee orientation process
- Oversees pre-hiring process including I-9 compliance/E-Verify, background checks, pre-hire assessments and HRIS entries
- Oversee post-employment matters including unemployment claims
- Oversee compensation and benefit surveys
- Oversee Worker’s Compensation and OSHA issues
- Review FMLA leave requests and pay and benefits issues
- Design and direct organization’s strategy with regards to workforce development, measurements, and evaluation methods
- Build and maintain effective relationships with employees and management
- Work directly with departmental directors to provide HR support and guidance
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Display a positive, respectful attitude and maintain a professional work ethic while serving AZTEC’s mission
Requirements:
- Experience working within HRIS system, preferably Paycom
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in HR management
- Working knowledge of organizational development, compensation and benefit practices, safety, training, and federal, state, and local employment laws (EEOC, Unemployment, Wage & Hour)
- Writing skills are critical
- Valid Arizona Driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of Department of Economic Security-Division of Developmental Disabilities (DES-DDD) Licensing Rules and Regulations and ensure compliance with regards to HR related policies and procedures.
- Experience working for a non-profit organization.
- Bachelor’s degree
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR
