Director of Talent Management
Under the supervision and direction of the Chief of Schools, the Director of Talent Management will
serve as a member of the AZACS Executive Leadership team and is responsible for aligning all business operations to the school's strategic goals and mitigating risk for the organization. Candidates must be experienced in school human relations, department budget preparation, payroll, benefits, grants, insurance, and related human resources school operations.
Supervises:
● Talent Management Team, including HR Generalist, Coordinator, and Assistants
Duties:
● Oversee all aspects of HR operations within AZACS as the charter network expands, including
employee relations, employee training (pertaining to employment functions), talent acquisition,
benefits administration, payroll operations, legal compliance related to employment practices,
and other traditional HR functions
● Advise Executive Leadership on HR performance, risks, needs, and capabilities, ensuring that
these stakeholders are informed ahead of any foreseeable occurrences or initiatives
● Work with outside counsel to develop and implement legal compliance initiatives related to
employment programs and practices
● Oversee the organization’s relationship with all outside vendors and regulatory agencies related
to employment practices, including benefits brokers, payroll, time management, and other
providers, regulatory agencies, and staffing vendors
● Provide day-to-day direction and leadership for the talent management team, disseminating
information to the Chief of Schools as needed, and ensuring talent management initiatives are
completed on time and consistent with objectives
● Create salary recommendations and create staff employment agreements
● Review and update the staff handbook, revising policy initiatives, and communicate relevant
updates
● Develop performance management goals of the HR team, ensuring that team members are able
to perform their roles appropriately and are able to serve as a trusted adviser/consultant to the
organization’s leadership
● Maintain visibility and confidentiality of all sensitive HR issues, including talent acquisition
concerns and employee relations risks, providing direction to staff to ensure the timely and
appropriate resolution of the issues
● Manage onboarding and separation processes
● Manage the Talent Management team to administer and communicate with the organization's HR
initiatives, projects, performance, and other related communications
● Assist with developing staffing models to ensure effective and efficient operations
● Maintain awareness of the organization’s employment-related policies and practices, including
those related to industrial safety
● Support and/or lead the administration of employee benefit plans, including 401(K), FSA, and
COBRA coverage
● Review healthcare benefits and ensure communication with AZACS staff for open enrollment
and qualifying life events
● Serve as the Title IX Coordinator
● Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
● 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a traditional public or charter school
● HR Certification preferred (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent)
● Maintain a valid IVP Arizona fingerprint clearance card
● Bachelor’s Degree in HR

Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in an indoor and outdoor classroom setting.
