The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team within the setting of an outstanding new facility with capabilities in imaging, flow cytometry, bioinformatics, and other advanced approaches. The position is part of a well-funded research program and will provide the opportunity to produce high-impact publications. The candidate should have basic experience performing research in a biomedical laboratory setting, and experience in rodent handling will be advantageous. The candidate should be detail-oriented, conscientious, able to follow instructions, and have the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner verbally and in writing. Duties & Responsibilities Works under the supervision of the PI and perform day-to-day experiments of tissue culture, DNA, RNA, protein isolation/analyses, cloning DNA constructs, and mouse experiments. Record results in the laboratory notebooks or data folders. Communicate all results to the PI in a timely manner and plans for the follow-up experiments and troubleshooting Participates in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and data figures. Assist with the set up of standard laboratory operations. Organize and manage laboratory resources including research reagents and laboratory equipment. Facilitate the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment. Assist with orientation and training of new lab personnel. Provides routine and technical administrative support to lab operations. Write and update standard lab operating procedures and protocols. Oversee RLSS compliance for all lab members. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing. Ability to set up and perform a variety of lab or field tests and operations. Experience with recording results, making observations, analyzing data, and interpreting test results. Research Knowledge and experience (internship, independent study).
