Proactively manage stakeholder expectations during the project design process. Participate in the negotiation of professional design service contracts with outside consultants. May supervise design staff.

Essential Duties
- Proactively engage and manage project stakeholder expectations.
- Primary point of contact for all client issues.
- Ensure presentations on all complex project concepts to clients, public agencies, and project team members are clear, concise and professional.
- Independently make decisions exhibiting sound and accurate judgement and reasoning.
- Include appropriate people in the decision-making process and make timely decisions.
- Manage multiple projects and coordinates the work of a design team to ensure compliance with the architectural program statement.
- Coordinate and manage projects in accordance with Arizona Board of Regents policies.
- Prepare advanced detailed architectural programming documents.
- Ensure that documents submitted by Design Professionals are reviewed for quality, coordination, and compliance with the requirements of deliverables and client standards in all phases.
- Work closely with the University Planners office and relevant stakeholders to determine project scope.
- Attend and represent the University at meetings for compliance with the Arizona Board of Regents and University policies and standards.
- Prepare conceptual budget estimates based on programming documents with multiple resources.
- Negotiate fee with selected design professionals and prepare contract ensuring cost will be within Arizona Board of Regents guidelines.
- Review work of consulting architect(s) to ensure that university standards and contractual requirements are met.
- Participate in Campus Master Planning activities.
- Supervise activities of subordinates.
- Coach and mentor assigned team members and provide performance-enhancing feedback.
- Regular activities require ability to adapt to changing priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
