The Role: Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Role Location: Queen Creek, Arizona | In-Home

Department: Therapy

Position Type: 1099 Contractor | Part-Time | Full-time | Minimum of 5 hours of treatment/and or evaluations conducted weekly

Incentive: A $1,000 incentive will be provided once the first 20 hours are billed

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to support clients with communication and swallowing disorders in both clinical and/or home health environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Home Health Responsibilities:

  • Support in assisting with in-home informal assessments for communication and language needs.
  • Implement therapy activities tailored to the patient’s home environment under the supervision of the SLP.
  • Provide education and training to caregivers and family members on how to assist with communication and language techniques.
  • Document therapy provided and report any significant changes in the patient’s condition to the supervising SLP.
  • Foster supportive relationships with patients and their families to encourage participation in therapy.

In-Clinic Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct activities to improve patients’ speech, language, and communication skills as directed.
  • Monitor patient progress and provide feedback to the supervising SLP.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for therapy sessions.
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and strategies for practice at home.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment activities.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) as required by the state of Arizona.
  • Experience in a clinical and/or home health setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
  • Capacity to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
