Sales Associate and Cashier

HKG Duty Free, part of the Ariva Group is looking for a Sales Associate and Cashier

Job Summary
The Store Associate plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty, and contributing to a high-performing team environment. This role involves active participation in sales, problem resolution, and daily store operations, including handling phone/email inquiries, assisting customers, and ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet all walk-in customers promptly and warmly.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional demeanor with both customers and coworkers.
• Balance the cash drawer daily and complete all required transaction paperwork.
• Organize and file all sales paperwork accurately and on time.
• Process all sales transactions, including finalizing tickets, collecting necessary documentation, and completing credit card payments in compliance with company procedures.
• Review transfer and distribution documents according to company policy.
• Verify all documents for accuracy and completeness, reporting discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Assist in training team members on computer programs, transaction procedures, and paperwork handling.
• Ensure shelves are merchandised and stocked according to direction from the Store Manager and Category Managers.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in line with company dress and grooming standards.
• Support store maintenance, including vacuuming, dusting, and general cleaning as assigned.
• Assist with unloading stock trucks as scheduled.
• Follow all safe work practices to prevent injury and protect products and property.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with an upbeat, friendly attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Compliance with HKG’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
• Basic computer skills for software use and documentation.
• Previous cashier experience preferred.
• Previous duty-free store experience preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, talk, and hear regularly.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects over 25 lbs., with discretion to seek assistance when needed.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
