What are the responsibilities and job description for the ICAN Advocate/NY Connects Specialist position at ARISE Child and Family Services?
ARISE seeks a self-directed, highly organized professional to provide assistance and referral services to individuals in need of long-term care services through the NY Connects program and provide advocacy services to individuals trying to navigate New York’s public health insurance programs through the ICAN program. Approximately 23 hours per week will be spent in NY Connects, conducting outreach, working collaboratively with community partners and supporting callers with information on available long-term care resources and services. Approximately 15 hours will be spent advocating with and on behalf of people who have difficulty understanding their public health insurance benefits, are denied services or do not receive sufficient services to maintain health and well-being. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Independent Living.
