Masking Associate (Manufacturing / Powder Coating)
A growing manufacturing company is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Masking Associates to support powder coating production. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, following specifications, and contributing to high-quality finished products in a fast-paced environment.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $18.00/hour
- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Thursday
- Overtime available on Fridays as needed
- Location: Oregon, WI
Position Summary
The Masking Associate is responsible for hanging, masking, inspecting, and packaging production parts according to job packets and blueprints. Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are critical to meeting quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and follow job packets, process specifications, and blueprints.
- Mask and unmask parts using silicone/rubber plugs, high-temperature tape, hooks, bolts, and racks.
- Measure, cut, and apply tape to protect holes, threads, and machined surfaces.
- Count, label, hang, and rack parts according to specifications.
- Inspect parts using basic quality tools (e.g., thickness gauge, MEK testing).
- Package, wrap, and band completed parts for shipment.
- Complete work orders and communicate discrepancies to production leads.
- Identify, rework, and correct parts to meet quality standards.
- Maintain and clean masking plugs and supplies.
- Organize materials and report supply shortages.
- Support other production areas as needed and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0–4 years of manufacturing experience preferred (powder coating experience a plus).
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Ability to become forklift certified.
- Professional attitude and strong teamwork skills.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands; occasional bending, twisting, kneeling, or reaching overhead.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes and limited hazardous materials.
