JOB SUMMARY
Our client in Ripon, WI is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented 1st shift Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations on the production floor in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising production staff, ensuring compliance with safety and food quality standards, meeting production goals, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with the client.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervise daily production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely execution
of manufacturing schedules.
· Monitor and maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food
safety regulations, and company policies.
· Train, lead, and motivate production staff to achieve performance targets and uphold
safety and quality standards.
· Maintain accurate records of production metrics, downtime, and material usage.
· Coordinate with QA/QC, Maintenance, and Supply Chain departments to resolve
production issues and optimize workflow.
· Conduct regular inspections of equipment and workstations to ensure safety and
operational efficiency.
· Assist in implementing and sustaining continuous improvement (CI) initiatives
including lean manufacturing, 5S, and waste reduction efforts.
· Manage employee schedules, timekeeping, and performance evaluations.
· Support and enforce company policies related to safety, sanitation, and workplace
conduct.
· All other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Food
Science, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
· 3 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing or a related production environment.
· Experience with automated and semi-automated production lines.
· Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and basic troubleshooting of production equipment.
KEY COMPETENCIES
· Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a diverse team.
· Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Familiarity with production systems, KPIs, and inventory management.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP or MES systems experience is a plus.
· Ability to work flexible hours, or shifts, as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
· Lift up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to work in various conditions including hot, humid, noisy environments.
· Ability to work in areas where food ingredients, allergens, or cleaning chemicals are
present.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
