Title: Field Operations Manager
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide supervision and direction on field operations and supporting shop operations as required:
- Will report to Shop Production manager.
- Will be required to get a blasters license for handling high explosives to allow for explosive plug welding.
- Valid drivers license and approval of insurance for driving
- Will provide some reporting as required to the QC manager for field QC requirements.
- Flexible hours when operating at the shop. When at the shop, safety management will be part of this job along with helping on any OSHA requirements such as forklift training.
- Will be required to do some maintenance on tools when out of the field.
- When not on outside projects, some machining may be required at the machine shop, some QC functions may be also be required.
- Also, options for additional hours may be available in the machine shop or fabrication shop as labor or managerial support.
- Will be involved in other special projects at the shop.
- Knowledge of machinery and equipment important as this position requires an ability to solve problems while working in a small or large crew situation.
- OSHA 30 will be needed if not already in possession.
- International travel will be required.
- Travel will be 20 to 50% of the time.
- Will plan and manage field crews on projects from 2 man jobs to 50 man jobs.
- Some computer skills in Word and Excel are also important so information can be transmitted from the field.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in the power plant environment. Knowledge of ASME Welding and ASNT.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Quick thinking and adaptive responses in a small and very agile, technical, international, and growth business.
- An ability to communicate from the field to shop and engineering when issues and operational concerns arise.
- Direct face to the customer. Able to read technical specifications.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
