SENIOR CENTER KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Description

Responsible for assisting Senior Center Cook in preparing congregate and home-delivered meals for Senior Center participants in accordance with program regulations, guidelines, and schedules. Cleans and maintains kitchen and equipment as directed by Senior Center Cook and Senior Center Program Coordinator.

Requirements

This position is a part-time position with a work week of Monday-Thursday. This position works 8:00 a.m.-1:00p.m. each day.

• Assists Senior Center Cook in preparing required congregate and home-delivered meals daily in accordance with program regulations and guidelines.
• Fulfills daily tasks as assigned by Senior Center Cook.
• Prepares food accurately to produce a high-quality outcome.
• Uses supplies, time, and equipment effectively.
• Assists in daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and equipment.
• Assists in preparation and packaging of home-delivered and frozen meals.
• Assists in unloading food and kitchen supply deliveries.
• Acts as fill-in for home-delivered meal driver as needed.
• Assists in cleaning dining area daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
• Bulk food preparation experience preferred
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must provide proof of or obtain First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must provide proof of physical exam upon hire.
• Experience in working with elderly or disabled individuals is preferred
