The Role
As a Junior Lighting Designer, you will support the design team through all phases of project development, from initial concept to final documentation. You will help translate design intent into technical reality while ensuring high standards of precision and visual quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of lighting layouts, schedules, and technical specifications.
- Perform lighting calculations and photometrics using industry-standard software (AGI32, ElumTools, or similar).
- Develop 2D CAD drawings and 3D models/renderings to communicate design concepts.
- Organize and maintain the internal lighting library and sample room.
- Collaborate with senior designers on project research and fixture selection.
- Education: Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Rhino/Revit is highly preferred. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Vectorworks is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a collaborative studio environment.
