Director of Human Resources
Department: People Operations
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
About Arc Games Inc.
Arc Games, Inc. is a video game publisher based in the Bay Area, with titles including Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, and Perfect World International. We work closely with our development studio partners to bring beloved game worlds to players around the globe, operating across multiple international entities and jurisdictions.
The Role
Arc Games is looking for a Director of HR to lead our People Operations function. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has built and run HR programs end-to-end — not just overseen them — and who thrives on both the strategic and operational sides of the job. You'll partner directly with the CEO and the executive team to shape how we hire, develop, retain, and support our people as the company grows.
This is a Senior Management position, ideal for someone who wants to own HR strategy and execution with autonomy, reporting directly to the CEO.
What You'll Do
· Own the full People Operations function, from HR strategy and program design to day-to-day execution.
· Design, launch, and run HR programs with a demonstrated track record of success — including wellness initiatives, succession planning, performance management, and employee development.
· Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and company culture.
· Lead compensation and benefits strategy.
· Ensure HR practices and employment policies comply with multi-jurisdictional requirements as the company scales.
· Build and mentor the People Operations team as headcount grows.
· Champion employee relations, engagement, and retention initiatives that reflect Arc Games' culture and values.
· Bring an informed perspective on how HR needs evolve at different company stages, from high-growth startup through to more mature operations.
What We're Looking For
· Demonstrated success across the full spectrum of HR functions — you've built programs, not just administered them.
· A track record of authoring and executing HR programs with measurable outcomes (e.g., wellness, succession planning, performance management).
· Experience working at a company through significant growth — startup-to-exit experience is a strong plus.
· Familiarity with stock/equity compensation and ESOP program management
· Prior gaming industry experience is not required.
· A collaborative, adaptable leadership style suited to a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
· Schedule: Hybrid — 3 days per week in the Sunnyvale office
· Location: Must reside in California; proximity to Sunnyvale needed to support the onsite schedule
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $150,000–$170,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Final offer will be based on a range of factors including relevant experience and skills. This range reflects base salary only; total compensation may also include equity and benefits.
