Position Overview
Opera San José is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Patron Experience Representative to serve as the front-line of our ticketing and patron services operations. This role is the backbone of our audience experience — managing box office functions with accuracy, professionalism, and care.
Beyond ticketing, we are intentionally looking for candidates who bring additional interests and ambitions. Key Responsibilities
Box Office & Patron Services (Primary Focus)
- Process ticket sales, exchanges, returns, and inquiries accurately and efficiently, both in person and by telephone
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patrons, providing information on performances, subscriptions, and services with professionalism and warmth
- Learn and operate Tessitura, our ticketing and patron relationship management system
- Manage subscription services and renewals with attention to detail
- Resolve patron concerns with discretion, accuracy, and a service-first approach
- Maintain an organized, welcoming front-of-house environment during performances and business hours
Administrative Support
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and special projects as assigned
- Collaborate with internal departments to support a seamless patron journey
- Contribute to Patron Experience initiatives aligned with organizational goals

Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with box office or ticketing experience preferred
- Comfortable with technology; ability to learn Tessitura or similar ticketing platforms
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, live-event environment
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Background or demonstrated interest in marketing, media, content creation, music, or the performing arts is a strong plus
Schedule & Availability
- Approximately 12-20 hours per week
- Must be available for all Opera San José performance dates, including evenings and weekends
