What You’ll Do
- Team up with teachers to keep the classroom organized, engaging, and running smoothly
- Support students academically and behaviorally—celebrating wins and helping navigate challenges
- Help prepare daily classroom materials (and yes, sometimes that includes filling water bottles and making copies!)
- Supervise students and document observations to support their growth and care plans
- Assist with data tracking, gradebooks, transcripts, and online learning systems
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (education, nursing, clinical staff) to support each student’s success
- Participate in treatment teams as a voice for the Education Department
- Help train new staff on classroom routines and systems
- Use verbal de-escalation techniques—and step in during high-stress moments when needed
- A calm, steady presence—even when things get challenging
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to follow structured plans but stay flexible when needed
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment
- Basic tech skills (Microsoft Office, Google tools, etc.)
- A genuine interest in child development and helping students succeed
