Nursing Assistant (NA) – Night Shift – Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (NA) to join our night shift team in a skilled nursing facility. The CNA provides direct resident care and assists residents with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, and safety during overnight hours. The ideal candidate is attentive, patient-focused, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs during the night shift
Assist with repositioning, transfers, and mobility to ensure resident comfort and prevent skin breakdown
Take and record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other assigned observations
Observe residents and report changes in condition or behavior to the nurse
Maintain clean, safe, and organized resident rooms and care areas
Assist residents with bedtime and morning routines
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures
Accurately document care provided in electronic medical records (EMR)
Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare staff to ensure quality resident care
Qualifications
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of employment
Current CPR certification preferred
Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatrics preferred
Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
Ability to respond quickly to resident and emergency needs
Schedule & Work Environment
Night shift position (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
