Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a CNC Machinist job in Bloomfield, CT. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the elevators, escalators, and moving walkway industry. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC and manual machining equipment to produce precision components from castings, steel, aluminum, and brass. To be successful in this position, you must have hands-on machining experience, knowledge of G-code, FANUC, or Mazatrol programming, and the ability to independently set up machines for production. Preference will be given to someone with experience machining castings and raw materials and using specialized inspection equipment to verify quality.
CNC Machinist Job responsibilities:
- Perform skilled machinist duties within the machine shop, including operating a variety of lathes, milling, grinding, deburring, drill press, manual and automatic saws, and Bridgeport machines.
- Set up, program, and operate machines to manufacture a variety of lower-level components used in mechanical assemblies.
- Machine castings, steel, aluminum, brass, and other raw materials according to required specifications and production needs.
- Support the Service Parts business by producing components for shutdowns and short lead-time demands while maintaining required quality standards.
- Perform routine machine TPM and other maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient machine shop operations.
Qualifications:
- Three or more years of trade experience or completion of a machining/trade school program.
- Hands-on CNC machining experience with the ability to independently set up machines for production.
- Understanding of G-code and experience with FANUC and/or Mazatrol programming.
- Experience machining castings and raw materials, along with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and machining programs.
- Strong understanding of tooling, speeds and feeds, inspection equipment, machine maintenance, safety, quality, and effective communication.
