Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and bilingual (English/Spanish) Assistant Director to lead and support the development of a vibrant VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) preschool and daycare center. Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily center operations, ensuring compliance with all licensing regulations and educational standards
- Support curriculum development tailored to early childhood learning goals, incorporating best practices in preschool education
- Lead staff supervision, including performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development initiatives
- Manage budgets effectively as part of the executive leadership team, including resource allocation and financial planning
- Coordinate fundraising efforts and community engagement activities to enhance program offerings and center sustainability
- Ensure adherence to school legal requirements, including special education law and health & safety protocols
- Facilitate communication with parents, staff, and external stakeholders through public speaking engagements and regular updates
- Supervise classroom activities to promote instructional leadership in early childhood education and ensure high-quality teaching standards
Skills
- Extensive experience in education administration within K-12 or early childhood settings with a focus on preschool programs
- Strong management skills with a proven track record in personnel management and supervising educational staff
- Expertise in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and classroom management strategies
- Knowledge of school legal frameworks, including special education law and licensing requirements for early childhood centers
- Ability to develop strategic plans that align with organizational goals for growth and quality improvement
- Proficiency in managing budgets as an executive education administrator while maintaining fiscal responsibility
- Excellent public speaking skills to engage with diverse audiences including families, community partners, and staff members
- Hands-on classroom experience demonstrating a deep understanding of working with young children in diverse learning environments
