Job Summary
The Plastic Surgery Technician plays a vital role in supporting the surgical team and ensuring the smooth operation of the plastic surgery department. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is skilled in both technical and interpersonal aspects of patient care. The technician will assist with various tasks related to surgical procedures, patient management, and equipment handling while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and care.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for plastic surgery procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by providing necessary tools and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Conduct product demonstrations for new surgical tools or technologies to the medical staff.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to analyze patient needs and provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, inventory, and equipment usage.
- Negotiate with suppliers for the procurement of medical supplies and equipment as needed.
- Provide leadership within the team by training new staff members on best practices and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards in all aspects of work.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in customer service to effectively communicate with patients and medical staff.
- Experience in pharmaceutical sales or outside sales is preferred but not required.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word for documentation purposes.
- Leadership qualities to guide and mentor junior staff members.
- Excellent negotiation skills for supplier interactions.
- Knowledge of product demos related to surgical instruments or medical devices is an asset.
