Role Title: Director of FP&A
Location: Chicago / Northbrook, IL
REMOTE WORK: Remote but, must be local to the Chicago area to be able to meet in-person as needed.
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Compensation: Target: $175 - $180k bonus equity. (Would consider a higher salary for candidates who meet all the requirements)
Summary: Our client is a rapidly scaling newly public AI cloud infrastructure company, and they are building out the finance function. This Director of FP&A will serve as the strategic financial partner to executive leadership and the Board, owning enterprise-wide planning, forecasting, and performance management. The role reports to the CFO and sits at the center of a high-growth, high-visibility environment where the work directly shapes company direction.

What You'll Own
- Lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning aligned to corporate strategy and operating goals.
- Build and maintain financial models supporting scenario analysis, investment decisions, and capital allocation.
- Own KPI reporting across revenue, ARR, margins, cash flow, and operating efficiency.
- Prepare and present financial insights to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, surfacing trends, risks, and corrective actions.
- Support public company requirements including earnings preparation and investor materials.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations to connect business drivers to financial outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes, tools, and systems.
- Lead, mentor, and develop FP&A team members.
Must-Haves
- 8–12 years of progressive FP&A or finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Experience working in a public company environment with exposure to SEC reporting cadence and earnings cycles.
- Demonstrated strength in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling within complex organizations.
- Proven experience presenting to senior executives and Boards of Directors.
- Background in Cloud, IaaS, Data, Software, or technology-enabled services.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial outcomes to operational drivers.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Nice to Have
- MBA or CPA.
- Experience with SaaS metrics including ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, and cohort analysis.
- Prior partnership with Investor Relations in a public company setting.
- Experience scaling FP&A processes in high-growth or PE-backed environments.
Salary : $175,000 - $200,000
