Location: 300 Hillmont Ave Ventura, CA 93003
Position: Scheduler
Pay Rate: $25.86/hr
Duration: 13 weeks with Potential Extension Based on Business Needs
Expected Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (7:00 AM to 4:30PM)
Required Years of Experience (preferred):
- 2 years of experience in a similar role within healthcare facility. MUST have surgery scheduling experience.
- Education Required: HSD/GED required
- Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
- Ability to establish and maintain a productive working relationship with faculty, staff, administration, and patients
- Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically, in a cheerful manger, with proper etiquette and professionalism
- Ability to use health system computer systems, and utilize the various resources and tools effectively
- Ability to schedule surgeries accurately in a timely manner
- Previous working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures
- Experience utilizing CERNER EMR system and IQueue Scheduling
- Experience directly working with physicians
- Answering and triaging calls- directing to appropriate individuals or departments.
- Scheduling surgeries, operations and appointments
- Perform insurance verification functions.
- Calendaring using the outlook application.
- Process and track all incoming and outgoing referrals and reviewing the Referral Work Queue and screening New Patients.
- Sorting and deposition of mail and patient information in compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations following facility standards.
- Interact with patients, providers and other caregivers within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
- Provide patients with generic preoperative information sheets and advise patients of preoperative surgical and financial requirements.
- Uploading patient imaging.
- Assist in all work assignments.
- Ad-hoc duties as needed.
- Scheduling patients for surgeries, appointments, etc.
