In this role, you’ll help ensure timely and accurate handling of verifications, referrals, authorizations, documentation, and patient information to support quality outcomes for patients and efficient workflows for hospital teams.
Required Skills- Strong administrative and data entry skills with attention to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting case management and outcome tracking
- Proficiency coordinating and tracking documentation, forms, and approvals (faxing, routing, compiling requests)
- Experience handling insurance/benefit-related processes (verifications, authorizations, eligibility/denials)
- Familiarity with medical record processes, including requesting/copying records as needed
- Strong communication skills to support coordination among hospital staff, physicians, patients, families, and providers
- Professional English language fluency sufficient to perform assigned essential functions
- Demonstrated reliability and adherence to organizational mission, values, and Code of Conduct
- Ability to support scheduling and maintain organized departmental records
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare administrative support environment
- Knowledge of MediCal-related processes (applications, fax review, authorizations)
- Experience supporting UR requests, appeal requests, and denial logging
- Familiarity with DME/oxygen coordination, home health referrals, and transportation coordination
- Comfort assisting with EMTALA, transfer, and referral form completion
- Preferred: 1 year of administrative or healthcare support experience (exact level not specified beyond preference)
- Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent (if education requirements are not met, experience may be considered)
