Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Advanced Manufacturing/Production Operator (Component Level) role supporting the build and integration of mission-critical electronic and electromechanical hardware used in advanced defense systems. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for a seasoned production operator who thrives in a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment—assembling, soldering, fabricating, and inspecting complex assemblies where quality, repeatability, and documentation directly support national security programs.

Location: Canonsburg, PA (Onsite)
Position: CL - Senior Advanced Manufacturing/Production Operator - Component Level
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct.
Pay Rate: $34.64/hr
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Typically 6 years of relevant advanced manufacturing/production experience supporting aerospace/defense-grade hardware, including component-level electronics work (e.g., circuit card assembly), precision mechanical/electromechanical assembly, and prototype through production builds. Experience working to controlled processes (work instructions, travelers, torque specs, ESD controls), maintaining configuration discipline, and producing hardware that must meet stringent quality and traceability requirements is strongly preferred. AA degree or manufacturing certification is a plus.
Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance
Schedule: First Shift

In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:

  • Perform component-level production assembly on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies (modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables) supporting defense programs.
  • Build and integrate hardware for prototypes, pre-production, and production systems in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Execute circuit card assembly (CCA) tasks including component handling, placement, rework/repair support, and workmanship verification to aerospace/defense standards.
  • Fabricate and assemble RF and multi-function cables/harnesses, including ribbon/stripline soldering to preserve RF performance.
  • Conduct fabrication, marking, and inspection activities with strong attention to detail, documentation, and configuration control.
  • Load and configure customer/standard software onto customer devices as required by build procedures.
  • Apply statistical methods and SPC to monitor process stability, identify trends, and support continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively across production, quality, engineering, and program teams to resolve build issues and maintain schedule commitments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) expertise, including component-level electronics assembly and workmanship verification.
  • RF build skills: cable/harness fabrication, multi-function cable builds, and ribbon/stripline soldering with performance-sensitive workmanship.
  • Proficiency with ESD controls, controlled handling practices, and working within documented build processes (work instructions, travelers, revision-controlled documentation).
  • Ability to perform advanced fabrication and marking consistent with defense/aerospace traceability expectations.
  • Experience with software loading/configuration on customer devices following controlled procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Statistics and SPC applications (process monitoring, trend analysis, basic capability/variation concepts).
  • Strong computer skills for documentation, data entry, and following digital work instructions/records.
  • Clear, disciplined communication for shift handoffs, discrepancy reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Preferred: IPC 7711 certification (rework/repair) and demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement initiatives (including identifying opportunities to apply AI to improve quality/throughput).
