Staff or Senior Accountant

Job Summary
Certain of these qualifications and responsibilities apply most directly to a staff-level role, and certain to a senior-level role. Candidate eligibility between these role opportunities will be determined based on their experience and qualifications.
Under direct or limited supervision, the accountant position will perform a variety of routine technical accounting work, general ledger entries and reporting, maintaining and reconcile general ledger balances. These duties require a strong application of accounting principles, practices, and theory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs professional accounting work such as entering transactions, performing and reviewing reconciliations, trial balances, journal entries, variance analyses, preparing working papers, schedules and reports.
- Examines a variety of accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations.
- Ensure that transactions are in accordance with applicable authority, policies, procedures, and are recorded consistently and within accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Prepares accounting reports utilizing manual methods and/or computer software.
- Coordinate with Director of Accounting and the rest of the accounting team in achieving fast and accurate month and year end close reporting, reconciliations, and procedures.
- Assist in periodic audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA a plus, but not required). In lieu of degree, 3 years of relevant experience.
- 1 years of accounting, finance, or relevant experience. Potential for Senior level role for more tenured candidates.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to clear documentation
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP system, QuickBooks, and tax compliance tools is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills required, including the ability manipulate large data files to perform various analysis using tools such as XLOOKUPs & Pivot Tables.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.
