Duties:
- Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
- Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
- Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines
- Load programs, install tooling, and set work offsets
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed
- Perform in-process using precision measuring tools
- Identify and report quality issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of CNC machine operation experience
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic understanding of G-code and CNC controls
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
