What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician - Electrical / Mechanical position at Applicantz?
This is a 24-month long term onsite contract in Fremont, CA 94538.
Must Have Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Technology, or a related field - Degree is preferred
- Up to 2 years of hands-on technical experience
- Cleanroom experience is strongly required
- Electrical or Mechanical troubleshooting/ Engineering
Preferred (Desire) Skills:
- Automotive repair/mechanical experience or Electrical Technician/Wiring experience
- Experience working with hand tools and testing equipment
- Hands on skills working with Lab tools—wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Fast learner with strong troubleshooting skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Semiconductor experience is a plus (not required)
- RF knowledge and wiring knowledge is a plus
Description:
- Responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance, trouble shooting, upgrades, and calibration on equipment in the applications lab.
- Performs the preventative/corrective maintenance using required Personal Protective Equipment which may include APR (Air Purifying Respirator) and/or SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) for safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Works closely with and supports Process Development, Hardware, and Software Engineering department’s R&D activities and customer demos/commits.
- Installs and supports prototype equipment and may develop procedures and documentation as needed in support of design and R&D activities which likely have little or no written procedures.
- May be required to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites to address tool/system issues that cannot be resolved without their support.
- This job may also include aspects of field and/or direct customer support and is not limited to system hardware and software.
- Occasionally may train Field Service Engineers, Engineering Technicians, other Laboratory Service Engineers, or Process Engineers from regional accounts.
Comprehensive on-the-job training, familiarity with Lab, and technical knowledge transfer will be provided alongside daily work.
