Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Fiscal Grants Accounting Specialist for a full-time direct hire opportunity in Orlando, FL with a mission-driven nonprofit charitable organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys accurate financial management, grant compliance, payroll administration, and supporting an organization that serves the community.

The Fiscal Grants Accounting Specialist will manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain financial records in QuickBooks, process payroll, and support government grant invoicing, reimbursement, reporting, and compliance. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to apply their accounting skills in a meaningful nonprofit environment with supportive leadership, collaborative teamwork, and visibility across finance, administration, operations, and executive leadership.

This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by helping ensure accurate financial reporting, responsible stewardship of grant funding, and smooth internal financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online, including daily transactions, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments, client invoicing, donor-related reporting support, and contribution tracking coordination.
- Prepare and submit government grant invoices, reimbursement requests, financial reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with federal, state, and local funding requirements.
- Track grant expenditures against approved budgets, monitor variances, maintain organized grant files, and support audit and grant closeout activities.
- Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll, maintain payroll records, track PTO and leave balances, and coordinate payroll changes with HR.
- Prepare payroll tax filings, support year-end W-2 and 1099-NEC processing, and generate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements for leadership review.
